Family:Rum
Brand:Pampero

History

Pampero Industry was founded as a liquor store in 1938. In 1953, Pampero launched the first "officially" rum añejo (aged) from Venezuela. In fact, thanks to Pampero Industry a law to control the excellence of beverages in general and rum in particular was pushed. This law set strict rules for the production of rum, as the exclusive use of wood deposits (specifying the type), filling the barrels at once (indicating the date), or sealed hermetically the tanks.

Description

Pampero Especial is a dark rum aged in oak barrels. Its alcohol content is 40%.

Tasting notes
  • Añejo Rum with great personality: wood and fruit notes.
  • Its color is gold with amber reflections.
  • The mouth is dry and smooth, with fruit and vanilla notes.

Observations

As a curiosity, in Venezuelan slang to have a "caballito frenao" (brake horse) is to have a drink. This expression comes from Pampero Rum logo. Its origin is unclear, but it appears coming from the figure of a cowboy from the Venezuelan plains.
