Family:Bitter
Brand:Campari

History

It was created in Padova, Italy and from that moment it began to become known throughout the world. Classical and popular in Argentina.

Description

The main ingredient used in its production is the artichoke together with 13 herbs in a secret formula. It has an intense bitterness, and it used to drink as an aperitif or after meals. Low in alcohol content (16.5%), it is one of the most light bitters in the market.

Tasting notes
  • Nose: intense bitterness but fresh. With herbaceous aromas.
  • The entry on the palate is smooth with lingering bitterness in the mouth and leaving a sweet and mellow at the end.

Observations

Bitter and light aperitif. Traditionally it has been only drunk alone, with soda, or juice. It has been rediscovered as an exotic ingredient for original cocktails. It can be prepared with orange or grapefruit soda and has become popular as a Julep prepared with mint, sugar and grapefruit juice.
