History

The origins of the whiskey distillation are not clear. Some say that the first to distill "Uisce Beatha" or "water of life" in Gaelic, were Irish monks in the sixth century. In the fifteenth century the Irish whiskey was exported and was very popular at the court of Elizabeth I. In 1608, King James I granted the first license to distill whiskey to the Bushmills distillery in Ireland. During the next 300 years, Irish whiskey ruled the world with over 400 brands exported to the late nineteenth century. They were especially appreciated because its lightweight body as a result of the triple distillation which today is still practiced.


Description

It is distilled three times to achieve an exceptional smoothness and is aged for a minimum of 10 years in Sherry and American Bourbon oaks.


Tasting notes

It is rich and smooth, with vanilla, honey and sherry notes.
