History

Haig's house is the oldest in the art of distilling whiskey and was originally set in 1627 when Robert Haig, the first in a long line of master distillers, began distilling whiskey near Stirling (England). The tradition was passed from generation to generation and traveled to Scotland when the house of Haig decided to settle there. In 1823 John Haig, great-grandson of Robert Haig, lent his name to the brand after obtaining the license to distill whiskey legally.

Description

Standard whiskey. The formula for the production of John Haig whiskey is a mixture of over 100 unique and different whiskeys. The single malts provide a balanced flavor, ripe and fruity, while the lighter whiskeys of the Highlands will provide softness to the palate.

Tasting notes
  • Balanced and smooth flavor, with ripe fruit notes.
  • Both in its aroma, lightly sweet with peat notes, as in its flavor, showing vanilla and green apple, the malt is clearly detected.
  • The finish has gentle oak notes, coffee, candy and soft but persistent peat.
